Designing something is not an easy task as we all know. It usually depends on current inspiration, mood, or whatever makes your brain cells work harder and produce great ideas. And when ideas finally start coming out, you need to make them look professional and that is usually the point where every possible help is most appreciated. Color scheme designer, which is actually a web based application, throws one fast and easy color scheme generator at your disposal.
Yes, if you are a designer, you probably already have a favorite tool for generating color schemes and it is probably located within one of your graphic applications where you do most of your daily work. But, this tool offers the same and maybe even better functionality twenty four hours a day without any need to install any additional applications on your computer.
The layout and user interface are so simple that almost anybody can easily understand what is going on really fast. The most important part of this application is a color wheel, located on the left portion of the screen, with clearly labeled warm and cold colors along with HUE and RGB values by default. With a simple click on one of the tabs below, it offers screens for adjusting the color scheme with various predefined templates and variants or a list of generated color values from the current scheme.

On the top bar you get to choose what color formula do you want to use from mono, complement, triad, quad, tetrad, analogic, or accented analogic and there is also an option to completely randomize the color scheme. What is another great feature of this application is that you can directly see how your color scheme will be seen by people with vision problems. The list offers some complicated names like Protanopy, Tritanopy, all the way to full color blindness and atypical monochromatism.

Beside that, you have one more preview function which might come really handy for web designers. You can directly see your schemes in action by clicking on a Light page example or a Dark page example and in both cases you will see a full web page coded with your scheme colors. First one using the lighter color for a base color while second one does the opposite.
On the end we wouldn’t have much use from this application if there wasn’t a way to save our precious schemes. Color scheme designer offers you several methods of scheme export including HTML+CSS, XML, Text, ACO Photoshop palette, and GPL which is a GIMP palette. So go ahead and start mixing some colors.
