Giant contravision graphic at Park Plaza in London

PrintRadar on November 4, 2009

This giant banner was applied directly onto the glass of the Park Plaza and it offers what is called a one way vision. This means that visitors, located inside the hotel, can clearly see what is happening outside and at the same time the banner allows natural light in from the outside. It is positioned in such way that it directly covers the hotel atrium.

In order to produce and install this giant 22 x 9 m banner hotel management had to give the job to the abseil team. This monster was created out of 44 3×1.5m panels and it was printed on an eight color EFI Vutek QS 3200 printer. Abseil team installed it in two days which is a great effort for such big scale management of printed material.

Hotel management seems to be very pleased with the impact that the banner has produced and with all expectations being surpassed. For this kind of large scale projects, good communication is crucial not only between people that are involved, but also with the final and future consumers. What we were wondering about is who will get to take that baby down after it has served it’s purpose? Or maybe they will just leave it to simply fade into memory. Eventually.
